Oatmeal bowls are my absolute favorite. They are. How can you go wrong with a bowl of oatmeal packed with the powerful delicious flavors of: nuts, nut butter, honey, chocolate, and the sweet, powerful flavors of ‘Pinole’, an ancient and delicious grain that has come down through the centuries?
With that intro you may gather that I REALLY REALLY like the power of oatmeal (which is true. Thankfully I am not alone). Some of my fellow food bloggers that do some incredible oatmeal recipes are:
and pretty much all of my recovery warriors know what it’s like to load up a bowl with all the ‘power’ toppings. You can bump those calories up, and it becomes one of the best recovery foods out there. Of course, I don’t like to call any food ‘bad’ but for my tastebuds, oatmeal is one of the ultimate power foods that always gets me excited.
It’s also cheap, which makes it extra tasty.
Who else is getting excited about this oatmeal recipe?
(Hint: It also includes a super duper delicious giveaway so you can make this power pumped pinole oatmeal multiple times yourself!)
First, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve dug into the WIAW link-up, and I have so many delicious eats, so many reminders of God’s great and powerful grace that I want to share, so let’s get cracking on those. Thanks Laura and Arman for all the hosting/hostessing you’ve done! I’m linking up with Amanda too so you can all participate in the giveaway!
Lately I’ve been eating lots of:
Toast: I’ve really been getting into the ‘toast tuesdays’, and this one was no exception with Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips, Trail Butter, raisins, and of course a base layer of Costco Peanut Butter.
Ramen: I left the caption there, because it’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot. Lately, God’s great grace has been flooding my heart. My parents and other people have been reminding me of the truth, the beauty, the worth, the wonder of Jesus Christ my Lord more and more, and my heart is completely peaceful.
I was thinking about this after eating a whole package of delicious ramen yesterday after snowboarding. I’m no longer worried exactly about every single calorie that goes into my body, because God’s great grace, the Prince of Peace is replacing that fear and worry in my heart.
Acts 4 reminded me of the change that Jesus Christ makes in a heart. When God brings us to Himself, great grace does fill us. We aren’t constrained by fear or guilt or shame anymore over our sin, because we know that Jesus Christ has wiped all that away in His death on the cross.
We aren’t afraid of death anymore, because Jesus Christ has conquered death. We aren’t afraid of the devil, and we’re filled with boldness about:
It’s pretty awesome. God is awesome, and beholding Him and all His character is what keeps this heart of mine peaceful and content. I am not perfect by any means, but the perfect Holy God is making me perfect and shaving off all those rough edges.
Recovery has been absolutely AWESOME lately. I’ve been eating all the things, and the worry has been greatly lessened.
Corn-dogs – This one was a bit of a ‘fear food’ on Sunday night, but I am more than conqueror, THROUGH Jesus Christ who has loved me. And I ate that fear food. It was delicious.
Perfect Bars: These Cranberry Crunch bars are the best. I ate one yesterday after snowboarding, but it looked a lot more ‘smushed’ than this one. The taste, however, was not compromised. (This one was the one I ate on Saturday after a long run)
And the obligatory ‘snowboarding’ selfie… Did you know that Laura, one of the WIAW hostesses, snowboards too?
And then there’s this ‘Chocolate Power Pinole Oatmeal Bowl.’ for you. It’s creamy, chocolatey, and it even has a hint of richness because of the thick Purely Pinole I added. 🙂
I’m pretty thankful and blessed to be a recipe developer for ‘Purely Pinole‘, and this will be the first of hopefully, many breakfast bowls that are easy for:
Busy Work Days
Or a lazy morning at home…
And there’s not just Pinole but Farmer Direct Oats in this recipe. Talk about an awesome, small company to support. I had no idea that oats weren’t always ethically sourced, but after seeing them on various people’s blogs like Laura (Sprint 2 the Table) and Rachel&Bethany, I realized that I was in the dark about this too. (Naive, I am?)
The wonderful thing about Purely Pinole is that it is so filling, has more protein than just a bowl of plain oatmeal, and it’s also really nice on my stomach.
Those are all good things. – And everybody loved this recipe. At least, it was all gone?
