No one saw the chains that reigned inside her heart.
No one saw the hatred that ripped her apart.
No one saw the way she wished she could look.
No one saw the wounds her heart took.
Except the only One who knew her, the One who saw the need.
The One who gets the glory, the One who takes the lead.
The God of Heaven and Earth, the One who formed her being.
The God who made her inmost parts, who Himself, is all seeing.
God who knows our darkness, our deadness, and our sin.
God who knows that we deserve hell and torture within.
God who sent His only begotten, beloved Son the Lord.
God who conquered Satan and has the Final Word.
Her deceitful heart says, ‘No one cares.’
But Jesus Christ in her pain shares.
Her heart mourned, ‘No one knows.’
But the Holy Spirit’s gentle wind blows.
And reminds her that He loves with an everlasting love.
That the kind of romance in Hallmark is not like that from above.
That it’s unconditional and free, undeserved and deep and forever.
That nothing from this kind of love can ever ever sever.
Her darkness He turned into light.
And of God’s glory gave her a sight.
Of joy so deep, so strong, and wide.
Of contentment ever flowing like a gentle rolling tide.
Of expectation of seeing Jesus Christ, face to face someday.
Following Him here on earth, e’en when it’s a weary way.
Taking up your cross and joyfully following Him.
Even when your bed with tears seems to only swim.
No more does her heart say, ‘No hope.’
She knows His love is an unbreakable rope.
No more does her heart say, ‘I can’t go on.’
Because now she’s seen the victory He has won.
She knows that heaven’s not here but battle in armor for now.
Till the day He calls her home, in His presence she will bow.
And dance for joy knowing that the suffering was worth the wait.
That it was all pointing to that heavenly beautiful gate.
Till then she marches on with new hope and joy in her Lord.
Basking in the love that He pours out through His Word.
Till then she serves and learns, humbled by how short she falls.
Yet the heavenly throne room always open, so she on Jesus calls.
‘Jesus help me. Save me. Keep me close to thy side.’
‘Bring me safe to heaven, be thou my constant guide.’
‘Jesus help my wayward hard to dwell only safe in Thee.’
‘Jesus make me purer and help me long to live holy.’
Because you have bought with your precious blood.
Your overwhelming love and righteousness like a flood.
By the grace of God, we plunge on and do not fail.
And know that Jesus walked that blood stained trail.
Jesus, my only hope, my rock, and my fort.
Truly the King of infinite worth
To come into His holy and brightest court
Lifts my heart from the griefs of this earth
True freedom is only found at the foot of the cross.
It’s only found when sin is lost.
It’s discovered when we begin to walk in the light.
True freedom is only found when we take up the armor and fight.
Jesus Christ has won the victory.
He is the one who gets all the glory.
Jesus Christ makes broken things whole.
Seeing Him, face to face is the ultimate goal.
