Today’s Friday favorites is about 50 blessings, 50 blessings that have been really special to my heart lately. The more I’m counting my blessings, the more I realize how much God is gracious to us through our Lord Jesus Christ and how amazing the exceeding RICHES of His grace really is.
My #1 Blessing right now? I just am so amazed by God’s incredible grace to us shown through His Son Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21, ‘For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.’
How could someone love us like that, enough to send His ONLY Son, who was co-equal with Him in glory and majesty? This grace is so big, that it makes my mind feel so tiny. I can understand God’s wrath against sin, because He is so holy and just and good, that any sin is an affront to His nature. He can’t even countenance it, but here is the most wonderful news, news that almost seems too good to be true, but I KNOW it’s true.
Lamentations 3:22-26, ‘It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.’
(Come thou Fount of Every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace… Streams of mercy never ceasing call for songs of loudest praise..’)
God’s compassion don’t fail. They are new every morning. He breathes life into the bodies of those of us who are spiritually dead. He takes the broken and heals them. He crushes the idols. He shows us His beauty, snatches of it, throughout creation, and most of all in this glorious work of salvation. And He didn’t just leave us after His Son came, but He promised in John to send us the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. Through Jesus we can walk in sweet communion with Him, and it is a balm to my soul that is so prone to anxiety and worry and sadness and anger and bitterness.
The Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. <3

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.’

Blessing #18 – These two crazy fun girls. They are sisters in the Lord. One of them is my actual sister, and I miss her dreadfully right now. The other is my comrade and sister in Christ. We went on this AMAZING road trip on which we saw so much of God’s creation together and made unforgettable memories.
Blessing #19 – I’m grateful for this girl. Julia has been a huge gift from God and a reminder of Jesus’ love to me in the recovery journey. There was quite an intense happening at her school earlier this week, and if you think of it, I would appreciate prayer to the great Comforter and Father of Mercy for my sweet sister. <3 I know it was a hard week.
And… I have far too much to say to give all of these blessings justice, because it’s 11:15 pm, and my brain is a bit… um… fried. However, Lord willing, I will be here next week to share the rest of the 50 blessings…
These blessings are countless, and these cover just a few of the many things I’m grateful for right now. God is an infinite God, who has given us the greatest gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ . . . From Him all blessings flow!
Ephesians 2:1-10, ‘And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedienceamong whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.’
