A giant Costco sized muffin. They used to be a ‘terror’/fear food for me. But it hit the spot. My sweet sister brought it home from the local coffee shop, and it made my heart skip a beat to see that giant delicious carbyyy muffin.
A muffin without a calorie count on them, a muffin that is just a muffin, is so good for me. It’s incredibly wonderful to be able to just bite into the fluff and enjoy each bite without fear.
It was like freedom eating that muffin, because I wasn’t worried about it. I wasn’t worried about a ‘balanced meal.’ I just ate, and it was just so delightful.
And that’s why food freedom is worth it. It’s worth intuitively eating to enjoy those Cheez-Its late at night, that brownie ice cream sandwich, those big salads, late night bowls of Ramen, or nachos.
Those are all foods that I used to fear, even the big hefty salads that had more than veggies.
But I’m thankful because God is teaching that freedom is WORTH. IT. Every step of tears and discomfort is worth the increasing freedom of eating without overthinking, eating at restaurants, eating while traveling.
I’ve been going through my Instagram lately, and I’ve realize how much freedom it’s representing for me. It makes me think of Cora and all the yummy variety in her diet that inspires me to embrace more in my own.
Some of the best food freedom experiences of late? – This ice cream and swing dance date two of my sisters and one of my best friends at Little Man Ice Cream in Denver.
This THICK Pita with Peanut Butter and the best Jam Ever – And I didn’t feel like I HAD to have a piece of fruit for breakfast, because this seemed to just really hit the spot.
Gooey Cinnamon Roll and Ice Cream and Coffee Cake (not the whole thing because it was huge, but intuitive eating said a little bit o’ icecream with coffee cake and cinnamon roll) I’m not dairy free, but this Nada Moo icecream plus gooey cinnamon roll for part of my dinner without overthinking the fact that I had mostly dessert for dinner was FREEDOM indeed.
A Vanilla Strawberry Yogurt Parfait my mom made for my birthday – For a long time I’ve struggled with other people making/serving food for me, and it was freeing to be able to appreciate this delicious parfait. It was deeelliccciouss. 🙂
