When God Says, ‘Wait.’
She stood by her window, fretting and wringing her hands.
It seemed like nothing was according to her plan.
She worried and wasted her time, wondering, ‘Why not yet?’
Tangling her mind in a darker untangleable net
A still small voice came when she opened His Word
And said, ‘It’s better to wait on the Lord.’
‘It’s better than trying to control what you want right now
Instead let your anxious heart to Him bow
Uncertainty is part of this Christian walk to glory
Though you know not every detail of this story
He planned it before you even were conceived
Even before the moment you in Him believed
He was the One who formed you, who knew you before world began.
He is the One in whom you can confidently stand
He is the One who sees every day till your death.
He is the One who gives you each and every breath.
I know your heart shakes because you don’t know what’s next.
But trust God. His promises written in His Holy text.
Don’t trust your feelings. They throw you around.
But rest in Who He is. He’ll anchor you down.
His promises are rich, abundant, and full.
His power is the same that brought Christ out of the grave.
Don’t let the idols make you grow dull.
Remember our God is MIGHTY to redeem and to save.
Remember He’s the Father of glory. He saves the lost.
That Jesus Christ won the greatest battle right there on the cross.
There’s nothing too hard or too big in your life.
Look to Who He is and let that still in your heart the strife.
Be sober. Be vigilant and root your life in the Rock.
That He ordains each minute you spend on the clock.
There’s no mistake in the times that He says, ‘Wait.’
There’s NEVER a time that God comes in a little bit late.
You may feel crazed by the ups and the downs of your days.
But God Almighty knows each and every one of your ways.
He’s ordained the first and the last of them before you showed up.
He’s the One who gives you the fullness of your cup.
Don’t let the devil tell you that God doesn’t know.
Don’t let him make your heart go down and stay low.
Look to Jesus. Cry out and say, ‘Help me Lord.’
And He will help you to gird on your battle sword.
So. Sit. Quiet. Be still. Know He is God.
And in the midst of the unknown, praise Him and give Him the laud.
I’m preaching to my heart just as much as to yours.
So sit down at His feet as He His wisdom down on you pours.
Lamentatians 3:25, ‘The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.’
Psalm 27:13-14, ‘I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!’
James 5:7-8, ‘Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.’
2 Peter 3:9 ,’The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.’
Is it hard for you to wait for certain things?
How do you wait expectantly and patiently on the Lord?
