Haley. This girl is a gem; I first discovered her on… surprise, surprise: Instagram! I was really blessed by each heartfelt, thoughtful, joyful caption. This girl radiated 2 Corinthians 5. She is an ambassador for Christ. This episode is the story of how she faced food fears and how she has healed from an eating disorder.
She is a living, breathing example of Jesus Christ reigning as Lord and Savior in our lives. She has been totally changed after recovery, and I . . . at first nervously reached out to her to see if she would want to share her story on the podcast.
‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.’ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
Guys. Gals. I should not have been nervous. Haley is a gem; she’s really humble. She was super raw and honest. She is extremely balanced, honoring of her precious parents, and I can definitely tell that it is ALL because of Jesus Christ saving her, and God redeeming her by His mercy and grace.
Her recovery story is a story of how:
Her Friends (Unbeknownst to them) Helped Her Recovery
Your Family Can Help You In Recovery (Surprise… It can be more simple than you think)

and so much more.
We talked all things recovery, balance, body image, moderation, and most of all it was a precious opportunity for the joy of the Lord to shine through Haley, the reality of Jesus setting captives’ free through her story.
Most of all this girl and her story challenge me to be more real and raw and open and honest about my recovery, my struggles, and most of all the victory of Christ Jesus over it all. She is so humble, so kind, so open, and daily she’s going to bless you with delicious food, learning to challenge any of those obsessions with exercise or food, and just learning what balance really looks like day by day.
If you have not gone to Haley’s Instagram feed you will want to head there as soon as you finish listening.
