HAPPY Tuesday! Truly, this is the day that the Lord has made. We can rejoice and be glad in it. It is good to be alive and be able to write to you all about one of my favorite food combos. It’s the YOGURT bowl. Bloggers love bowls. I have come to that conclusion after browsing through Instagram and some of my favorite foodie blogs. If you visit Georgie’s or Christina’s blogs or their Instagrams you will see just a delicious taste of the beautiful bowls bloggers like to create. They are absolutely amazing, and I am nowhere near that level of talent in the creation of bowls.
Yet, I love yogurt bowls, and the versatility of a yogurt bowl for breakfast is incredible… Here are just some of the combinations I’ve eaten in the past few weeks.
So, how do you construct a SIMPLE (maybe not always beautiful) yogurt bowl for a snack or breakfast?
Step #1 – Pick your favorite yogurt.
I love plain, because I like adding sweet toppings. For me the tartness of the plain yogurt is offset nicely by sweet/salty toppings.
This one is my absolute favorite, because it has ALL the fat! 🙂 God made us to need fat for our skin, our hair, our brains, and functioning every day to serve Him. Fat is your friend, not your enemy.
Step #2 – Pick a nut butter or a couple nut butters to spread on top of your creation.
You can never have too much fat, right? (I’m not a health professional)
You could do Bhappy Peanut Butter!
Or you could do Crunch Time!
Or you could do ALL of them at one time. That might taste a little interesting. 🙂
The best and cheapest natural peanut butter ever!
Step #3 – Add your favorite cereal or favorite handful of your favorite nuts.
Disclosure: I did receive these bags of DELICIOUS granola from Paleonola for a review, but ALL the opinions expressed are my own.
This granola is amazing whether or not you need to eat Paleo or gluten free. It’s sweet, crunchy, and chunky, and it makes a terrific topping for a yogurt bowl. If you want to check them out for yourself, you can find them right over here!
The options of nuts that you could add are but not limited to:
and the list goes on….
Step #4 – Add Fruit… Add fruit of any kind.
I haven’t added fruit very much lately, but that’s seems to be a result of me devouring a piece of fruit before I eat the yogurt bowl. I guess I’m slightly impatient to get started. 🙂 God knows that patience is one of the biggest areas in which He is constantly and graciously working on me.
You can add dried fruit, fresh fruit, or even frozen fruit. You could add anything from:
and _______ (fill in the blank.)
Last of all get CRAZY with the toppings. I just gave you a few ideas. You can add protein powder of any kind. You can add your own homemade granola bars. You can even crumble a granola bar from Rachel and Bethany. Their 5 ingredient bars are DA BOMB! 🙂 Here are a few more topping ideas that are kind of random and fun.
PERFECT Bars – These are SO GOOD! 🙂 I think they are still ranked as my favorite bar.
My Yogurt Bowls
I thought I would just share a ‘smattering’ of the yogurt bowls that I enjoy from day to day, and I hope it might give you an idea of what to make for a quick breakfast the next time you’re in a rush. 🙂 These have been such a lifesaver to me, especially when it comes to regaining a love and thankfulness for every kind of food that God has made, including fats and HIGH calorie foods, two foods that were really scary for me for a long time.
God is such a loving Father to work in such amazing ways in our lives through small things like yogurt bowls. 🙂
2. This is more plain yogurt with an apple, some Paleonola (A new to me cereal that I got to review!!!), and more BHAPPY Peanut Butter.
3. This one was a simple combo. I finished up my You Fresh Natural’s Glazed Donut Muscle Butter, added a banana, and rounded it out with a handful of MORE Paleonola.
Today, I’m thankful for the simple gift of yogurt and for this precious truth that I will store in my mind and heart and be thinking on for the whole of my life!
Romans 8:1-4, ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
There is no possible way I can be condemned by my eating disorder. I am not my eating disorder. I am a new person in Christ Jesus. I am FREE to enjoy Him, to enjoy His gifts, and to seek after Him because I am ALIVE!
Do you like yogurt bowlzz too?
If you don’t like yogurt, what do you like eating out of a bowl for breakfast?
