We are going back to the very beginning with one of my very first podcast interviewees; LYSS! This girl is so cute. She makes me laugh, reminds me of how precious it is to just GO with the flow, serve others, and live life after recovery. Today… she is on the podcast to remind us to trust God, go with the flow, and be content with life even when it doesn’t go quite how … you planned (cause God’s plan for His children in Christ is PERFECT.)
One of the hardest places for me to go with the flow is … food.
Yes. I still have a hard time going with the flow, because I like ‘mentally planning’ my food. I don’t like the idea of having to be spontaneous… Or I should say my ‘eating disordered’ past doesn’t, but one of the BIGGEST lessons in recovery is learning that I am not in control; God is.
God made the food. He made my body. He can enable my body to process different kinds of foods, and I can be spontaneous and enjoy the icecream and enjoy the oatmeal.
Lyss and I talked about priorities and learning to let go of having to exercise or having to eat the exact same things every day.
We talked about leaving your schedule open for spontaneous fun.
How Vacations Have Helped Her Be Spontaneous. . .
Not feeling like you have to do everything….
What balance is looking like for us after recovery and how we’re daily learning more about balance and how it’s not exactly easy…
Why we aren’t perfect, and we are still on this crazy messy amazing journey of learning balance and embracing spontaneity.
Basically, it was really fun, and Lyss’s contagious joy spilled through on the ‘cast. 🙂 I hope it gave you some food for thought.
I hope you can hear it and get some ideas and some encouragement about how to go with the flow, remember that God is in control, and that your life is in His hands.
‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall directa] your paths.’ (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Is it hard for you to go with the flow?
Which area of your life is hardest for you to go with the flow?
I’m linking up with Amanda so we can think out loud and talk about this topic!
