Okay. I know everyone has mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day, but I wanted to this to be more of an uplifting post than a super deep post about why I’m still single (cause honestly, I can’t tell you exactly why I’m still single, except that it’s God’s plan for me right now).
I seriously am so happy right now being single, and I’m not angry about being single. I’m learning so many things at this time in life, and I wouldn’t trade it for grasping at the grass on the other side, if that’s not what the Lord has for me. But I have some ‘perks’ to share with you of being single.
Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE to see people in love. My parents have been married for 26 years, and I pray that the Lord might see fit to give them 30 more years. But, I’m not God and I can’t make someone like me or make myself like someone, so I want to instead stop and just think of and thank God for every single gift that comes with singleness.
With that I have: 10 Reasons I Love Being Single On Valentine’s Day
(And my Heavenly Father knows if I’ll be writing a post some day that says, ’15 Reasons I Love Being Married on Valentine’s Day)
#1) Going out on fun adventures with your siblings wherever and whenever. (I’m not saying you can’t do this if you’re married either…)
#2) Not worrying about contaminating someone else’s dessert with your germs.
#3) Snowboarding Days with cousins and sisters. – Seeing how your relatives are growing in the Lord is seriously awesome.
#4) Making odd breakfasts that taste really good to you… 😀
#5) Puppies – Cuddling my puppy, training him, wondering at how God cares for my little puppy. How much more does my Heavenly Daddy care for me? (Matthew 6)
#6) Doing Podcasts with different people: pursuing the gifts God has given you right in the moment. – It’s a gift to be able to spend time investing in the friends you’ve met online and the friends and family in your life.
#7) Finishing off all the nut butters and not feeling self-conscious about it. – I think I finished about 3 or 4 last week. I’m thankful God made nuts, and that He so graciously provides for our bodies, including those yummy fats.
#8) Sister Time. – The more my sisters grow with me, the more I realize how short the time is we have on this earth. We don’t have a lot of time here, but I’m thankful for the years we have here together till we get to be with Jesus in eternity.
The last 2 reasons aren’t ones that can really be expressed fully in a picture. But they are really special to my heart.
#9) Realizing God’s Love for me is more boundless than any human’s could ever be; my mom has even testified to this. She loves my dad SO MUCH, but she knows that God’s love is deeper than any human love could ever reach.
Ephesians 3:17-19, ‘That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.’
#10) The last reason is that… Valentine’s Day is not just a day for married couples to love each other. It’s a day for us to show love to one another and to remind us that love isn’t just one day of the year. Love is EVERY day. Love is hard. Love is sacrifice, and Jesus showed the best love ever by laying down His life so that we might be FREE.
You can even make some pink oats to celebrate Valentines’ Day with me and wear a pink shirt that says it all. :o)
Happy Valentine’s Day!!! :o) Here are some of the most awesome reminders of God’s love that always comfort and secure my heart and soul.
‘Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.’ (1 John 4:7-11)
‘But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’ (Romans 5:8)
‘Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.’ (Romans 8:35-37)
1st Breakfast (I like the way Hobbits eat) – A really crunchy crispy juicy apple.
2nd Breakfast: A slice of One Degree Organics (I found it for $1.99 at Sprouts!) with Nut Butter Nation Salted Caramel (they’re on sale right now!), Jem Raw Cashew Cardamom butter, chocolate, and jam from my awesome sister in Christ and blogger friend Emily Weir.
Lunch: An oddly delicious bowl of cottage cheese, Blissful Eats Granola (Nicole sent me some to make recipes for Instagram!), Pumpkin, Sun butter, and cake.
Unpictured Snack: Since I’m a Rawxies Ambassador, I had a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough heart bar. 🙂
Unpictured Dessert: One of Emily’s Oreo Truffles. 🙂
Night Snack: It’s always a big mug of cereal! 🙂
