Loneliness and Longing
Arm in arm they laughed and she turned her head away.
She had that once, but it wasn’t there to stay.
Her eyes turned heavenward with unanswered questions there.
Yet trusting in God who counts every single tear and hair
Chair by chair the table emptied by the year
And she couldn’t help but wonder, ‘When will it just be me here?’
Her heart longs for heaven, to see Jesus face to face.
Anguishing over staying in this temporary place.
