Savor the simple. I know there is something in all of us that longs for something better, and I am a firm believer, that whosoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, will be saved, and that we have that HEAVENLY air, that heavenly fulfillment of seeing Jesus face to face that we’re looking forward to every day here on this earth. Yet, how do we savor the simple right in front of us, the seemingly mundane while we’re here?
How do we praise God for the little things He gives us to do every day instead of longing for something different or something ‘more?’ Our world often places a HUGE value on the ‘mark’ you make on the world, but what about the everyday things? I’m learning it’s in the seemingly simple, seemingly small things that contentment in Christ is most tested. Am I content not being a millionaire? Am I content not having the newest fashions and newest foods?
What do you savor that might seem not as ‘big’ as the other things people are doing? Do you ever feel guilty for that? Today I want to share that one of the best gifts this year for me has been learning to savor those things.
