Often women are looking for affirmation, for love, for someone to tell them that they’re beautiful in all the wrong places.
We can’t find eternal refuge in anyone or anything but Jesus Christ. It’s not wrong for someone to tell another person that they are beautiful, but that should not be the source of our fulfillment, joy, or security. Jesus Christ came down to earth. He became a babe, so He could save us from our sins. He died for our sins. He rose to give us hope of the resurrection.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) God is there. He is faithful. Psalm 147:3 says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” He sees our hurts, our regrets, our worries, and fears, and He calls us to have faith, to trust Him, to take refuge in Him, and to look to Him as the great healer and provider.
The Christian life is not easy, but it is secure. The fact is that we are saved and redeemed in Jesus Christ. We are walking on a new road, a narrow road to heaven. God is the one who carries us through. He is the one who binds up our wounds in the battle, and He is the one upon whom we depend.
