The coming of Jesus was one of the most glorious days in history. Why Jesus came to the world is important to me as a Christian for so many reasons, and the importance of His coming was even more real to me especially after I recovered.
Why do I believe Jesus truly is the reason for this season?
1. We were desperately hopeless after the fall of Adam in the garden. Adam walked with God. Adam had an intimate, close relationship with God. He talked to Him, but that moment of sin separated Adam from God. Yet God did not leave Adam without a promise that He would send the seed of the woman, His only begotten Son to redeem us from our sin and to reconcile us to a knowledge of and a relationship with Him, our Heavenly Father. Even more than men beginning to commit all sorts of dreadful sins, the most fundamental problem was that all of these sins, (in my case: anger, lust, selfishness, pride) stemmed from a broken relationship with God, who walked with Adam in the cool of the day.
When Adam fell, it was not hopeless. God’s promise was like lights in the darkness. Genesis 3:15, (God is speaking to the Devil and declaring war on Him through the seed of His Son.) ‘And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.’
