Last night we went and did official ‘busking’ downtown in Denver. All four of we sisters have sung together on numerous occasions, but this was the first time we did it to raise money for a cause. We are actually raising money for this event: Castle Rock Barefoot Mile. All the proceeds will go to help a ministry called JOY International that saves children from human trafficking around the world.
Denver has some weird ‘artistic’ architecture. I’m not sure I’d term it art.
Go west… Going west also means that we get to drink in the mountains. It’s a view I hope to never tire of… ‘The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork.’ (Psalm 19)
16th Street Mall was bustling with people. They all seemed to be happy that it was Friday. 🙂 A few of them even donated to the cause.
Denver’s version of ‘Big Ben.’
The bustle of the city never ceases to make this country girl want to just sit and watch it all. I imagine that all the people on the street have stories, struggles, heartache, joys, and sorrows, and it makes me see each person through different eyes. And it makes me grateful that Jesus saw me through eyes of compassion, enough to say that He was ‘come to call the sinners, not the righteous to repentance.’ He is so good.
Afterwards we followed Janae’s tradition (one of the many things I love about her blog) and got fro-yo together. My punch card is almost full! Yay!
My younger sister’s bowl…
And mine. I realized that, even though I like chocolate and less fruity flavors in my fro-yo it makes for a rather, um…, boring looking bowl. I’ll have to change that next time.
Last of all, this is unrelated to last night, but I saw these 2 glorious sights on my run the other day.
Deer standing in a field of green grass . . .
And this truly is a wonderful sight to behold, especially in Colorado.z
Y’all, I present to you a field of very green grass!
Revelations 4:11 says, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Hope you all have a great weekend!
What are your weekend plans?
Favorite dessert? Do you like fro-yo or would you always just go for straight-up ice-cream?
Have you ever been busking? Do you like the bustle of street malls?
