I know this is weird, but I find runs refreshing. Nowadays, it seems like life has gotten quite a bit busier, so I take any time that God provides to just sneak out and go fill my soul up, out in His creation, listening to music, praying, thinking, smiling, laughing, crying. I am incredibly thankful for this past week being one of renewed hope, more podcast plans (stay tuned for a couple fun interviews about staying present while still enjoying some social media, learning to be still, and hopefully another personal recovery story!), refreshment, and sooo much rest. I think I’m finally catching up on many hours of lost sleep. It was a precious week of refreshment, and I’m going into this next one with excitement about what God has planned for us.
I really love that Meg does these Week in Reviews, because they cause me to stop and think about what the week held.
Monday was such a good day. – On Monday I went with my sisters to go clothes shopping. I am . . . a SUPER picky clothes shopper, so my patient sister went with me and helped me pick through shirts, sweaters, dresses, and skirts. I was able to find a couple gray shirts, a striped dress, and a black skirt. Robyn at the Real Life RD inspired me with her example of her capsule wardrobe, and I thought I wanted to really narrow down my closet to what I will probably wear throughout the whole year and vary the layers depending on the day.
We also went to see a movie together. I felt so present. I left my phone at home to just get my heart and mind re-centered. God gave me such a peace that I hadn’t had in a long time; I’m so thankful for His mercy!
