HI EVERYBODY!!! By the time you’re reading this, Lord willing, I will be on the slopes learning to trust God even more and enjoying the humbling experience of falling down on my bum multiple times. Yes, I’m learning to snowboard. If you think of it, I would appreciate prayers for faith, humility, and that I might even be able to pick up a little bit of what it is to snowboard… 🙂
Before you get into this week’s eats here is a blogging article from Georgie that I thought you all would enjoy. This girl has been someone that is definitely teaching me and many others along her blogging journey.
I had to document this week of eats, because for the first time in a LONG time, I had something SAVORY or salty for breakfast. I’m a girl with a sweet tooth, and this was a HUGE difference for my normal routine.
Yes, I may have a boring life sometimes, but I’m actually really treasuring these fun, small, quiet moments, because they really remind the preciousness of each breath and each step in life as a gift from God.
Job 33:4, ‘The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.’
Am I the only other person that gets strange cravings? This was a mound of brown rice with cheddar cheese and marinated artichoke hearts. It was delicious! I might even try it again.
Lunch was simple. Since I’ve really been eating more intuitively lately, and, by God’s grace alone, trying to wean myself off of calorie counting, I really wasn’t hungry till about 2 pm. At 2 pm, I had this bowl of salted nuts with chocolate chips along with an orange that had VERY dried out skin, but an extremely juicy inside. It was a pleasant surprise. 🙂
In the middle of the afternoon, I had a sudden inspiration to try and develop a recipe. I’m not nearly as accomplished or amazing as Georgie or Christina, but I figure that everyone has to start somewhere, right? 🙂 Most of all, I know that God gives us grace and strength for EVERY journey.
2 Corinthians 12:19, ‘And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’
These are my ‘Paleo Apple Protein Muffins with Creamy Glaze.’ I hope to share the recipe on Friday, so come back then! 🙂
I also had to sneak one before we had dinner. 🙂
Dinner was butternut squash soup that I had cooking for about 3 hours on the stove from Pioneer Woman. My sister said, QUOTE, ‘It was the best soup I’ve ever had.’ Thank you Ree!!
A warm bowl of creamy, chunky soup on a winter night is such a blessing. :)) These little things remind me just how much I am blessed by a Heavenly Father who deserves so much glory and praise.
And I have to end with another notable bowl of Blueberry Mini-Wheats from this week. 🙂
Last, but NOT least, would you send my friend Kaila an encouraging note? My blogger friend suffered a really tragic loss yesterday,
and I know she would love a note of encouragement and comfort.
How can I encourage you today? What are you struggling with? (Anything I can pray for?)
What simple things are you enjoying and thankful for this week?
Do you prefer sweet or salty food for breakfast?
Thank you Jenn for the link-up!
