I have a new recipe for you. It’s called, ‘Strawberry Cheesecake Oatmeal.’ What do you do when you have cream cheese that you don’t want to waste? You use it to make Sunday morning oatmeal! 🙂
Y’all, I have so much to be thankful for, it’s hard to know where to start. (I love using the word, ‘y’all.’)
First of all, I’m thankful for life, that Christ Jesus came to give LIFE and that MORE ABUNDANTLY. I’m thankful that to live is Christ and to die is gain. It’s such a gift to be able to live and breathe and to enjoy God’s incredible world. Last night, I was with the dogs, and I was getting annoyed at them.
Wow? Why was I getting annoyed? Why didn’t I, instead, stop and just thank God for these beautiful animals that He made for His glory and pleasure?
(Isn’t she adorable?)
Sometimes, I just forget how awesome God is, and I’m thankful that God is constantly reminding me of this through His precious Word and convicting me of my lack of wonder and gratefulness. Truly, I want to be more like a little child in my wonder. Who doesn’t love a little child seeing the outdoors and running around to touch, smell, and feel EVERYTHING?
‘Lost in wonder, love, and praise.’ It’s a world in which it’s easy to be skeptical and hardened, but that’s not why Jesus came. Jesus came to GIVE life, to SAVE the sinners, to redeem the lost, to bind up the brokenhearted. Jesus Christ came to SAVE, and at the end of the world it was will be all finally done, over, and that should give me all the hope I need for each day.
Well, I am thankful that God provides food, food that I can eat to ENJOY Him. For so many years I didn’t enjoy eating. Eating was like slavery. It was like a chore. It was hard. It was a burden.
Now, I know that I can even EAT to the glory of God. I don’t live to eat. Food isn’t my life. My Father is my life. His Son Jesus Christ is my Savior, and I can’t be bound to food anymore, even though Satan often tries to get me to be distracted. I’m thankful that even eating can remind us of just how abundant and merciful God is to us everyday.
- 3 cups oatmeal
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 4 tbsp. strawberry jam
- 2 cups milk (almond, regular, coconut, whatever you like)
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp. sugar (any kind)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheit. Mix all ingredients together in one bowl. Pour into small 8x8 pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until firm. Take out of the oven and serve with milk, yogurt, or any toppings that you desire. It really doesn't need any sweetener, but strawberry jam tastes really good on top of it!
- Note: You can put these in the refrigerator overnight also and bake them in the morning. If the oats absorb all the milk, you can add more in the morning!
Psalm 98:1-9, ‘O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together. Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
May you SING because He is good today!
What are you thankful for today?
Do you like cheesecake? Would you like it in your oatmeal?
